Toga clad Year 7s celebrate Liberalia

20 March 2018

Dressed in togas, garlanded in ivy and chanting in Latin, our Year 7 Latin students participated in a coming-of-age celebration in imitation of the Liberalia of Ancient Rome. On this day boys aged 14-16 would be enrolled to vote, up-grade their childhood toga to a man’s toga liberalis, make a sacrifice to Liber, and enjoy a great feast. The girls ended their imitation ceremony with a party of their own in Moss House. euge!
