On Sunday 27 May, fourteen eager Fintona girls spent the morning collecting donations on behalf of the Salvation Army for the annual Red Shield Appeal. The girls met up at Camberwell Corps, and local congregation member, Jenny Elliott, guided the girls around door knocking in the local streets in Glen Iris. The weather was lovely and it was a great day for being outside.
The girls enjoyed the experience, with many commenting on how friendly, kind and generous people were. It was a very successful morning, with the girls collecting almost $650. At the end of the collection, they were rewarded for their efforts by drinks and warm snacks provided by the local members of the Salvos.
