Meet our Principal | Fintona Girls' School

Meet our Principal

An accomplished educator with extensive leadership experience in independent schools.

Rachael Falloon began as Fintona's new Principal in January 2018.

Her experience spans more than two decades as an educator in leading independent schools in Victoria and Western Australia, including several years as Secretary for the Australian Association for Pastoral Care in Education.

As a teacher of Mathematics, Rachael began her career at St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School and went on to head the Mathematics Department and later took on a Year Level Coordinator position. A move to Western Australia saw her teaching at Guildford Grammar, where she taught Mathematics, was Head of Stirling House, Acting Senior Master and later, the inaugural Senior Head of House leading the student care program across the school.

Prior to taking on the role of Principal at Fintona Girls’ School, Rachael held a senior executive role at Camberwell Grammar School as Deputy Head.  In all three schools, Rachael was strongly involved in the outdoor education, sporting and cultural programs.  She has streamlined systems and practices, introduced and embedded new technology platforms to support pastoral care and learning objectives and more recently worked with her community through two major building projects.

Rachael’s skills encompass many disciplines including pastoral care and wellbeing, curriculum development, administration and operations, strategy and leadership.  She has a passion for developing others, prides herself on connecting with those in the communities in which she works, and strives to provide rich experiences for students beyond the classroom.  She sets high standards for herself and others and likes learning through action, being involved, and enabling others to see life and learning through a broad lens.
