Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I auditioned to be in the school play because, just like last year, the cast is always so open and, as this is a fun and goofy story, everyone can have a blast and get to know each other! I also became a part of this play because, as I am one of the older girls, I want to provide some leadership and comfort to the younger girls, just like the older girls did to me when I started out in 2021.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I am most looking forward to just enjoying the ride and seeing what will happen next when the play comes together at last (definitely not about the light-up blocks, dances and neon eye makeup we get to wear…).
What about the play interests you the most and why?
I found that the most interesting part of the play was how we interpreted it because we went for a bright, colourful, 80s theme, but there are other versions that aren’t as bold and funky. Even the fact that the play is about a prince falling in love with three oranges also gives me a laugh every time someone reminds us that that is the whole story.
Alex
Prince Tartaglia
Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I always like putting myself outside of my comfort zone, and what better way to do that then to audition for the most whiney, stubborn, pick me guy out there? The constant complaining that he does, complaining that he is sick, is something I, unfortunately, relate to. I’m not proud of it, but I have a tendency to milk being sick. His audacity in this play is something I really find hysterical so I hope it will be as hysterical to watch as it is to play.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I’m looking forward to the costuming and hair and makeup coming together! The wigs are especially fresh and provide new life to the performance, which, in turn, makes the actors have more energy. I think I am extremely looking forward to the audience’s reactions to many of the different scenes in the play, but I think the best part of it is the dynamic between Tartaglia and Truffaldino, and how their different pathways lead to both of their happiness in the end as well as a friendship that will last forever.
What about the play interests you the most and why?
I’m an 80’s super-nerd, so I really love the colour scheme which is so in your face that you can’t look away! There is so much happening on stage at all points in the play that you find yourself being sucked into the world of these characters. The soundtrack has all the best hits of the 80’s and the choreography is so fun and engaging. I also really love the idea that each character has their own set character, which makes it easier to identify them on the stage of madness.
Amelia
Truffaldino
Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
It’s always a fun process getting to make new friends and perform with girls across the different year levels. It can be hard work, but we’ve all made so many fun memories over the past few months. It’s an amazing feeling being able to see how far we’ve all come since our first rehearsals.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I’m really looking forward to showing everyone what we’ve been working on these past few months. The whole cast has put in so much effort, and it will all be worth it to see the audience laughing!
What about the play interests you the most and why?
I really love the 80s theme of the play. The bright colours, iconic songs and eccentric costumes all really help to bring the performance to life!

Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I think that school plays are one of those special experiences you only get while you’re at school- I don’t think there’ll be any opportunities like these when I finish school so I wanted to give this a go while I have the chance.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
Experiencing all the behind the scenes because watching it last year, I really wanted to see what it was like working with a cast, commitments to after school practices, and performing in front of a crowd.

Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I auditioned to be apart of the school play as it was a unique and exciting opportunity that I just couldn’t pass down! I also wanted to extend myself and be apart of a comedy play, which incorporates both acting and dancing, as I can learn invaluable skills and make memories with some amazingly talented individuals.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I am looking forward to seeing everyone’s character develop overtime in the rehearsal process and come together to deliver this outstanding production. Each character has their own comedic flair which is incredibly entertaining to watch. The character dynamics and relationships with one another is another level of crazy and chaos, yet at the same time seem to oddly complement one another.
What about the play interests you the most and why?
What interested me the most about this year’s school play was the way it was contextualised. I am a huge advocate for our 80s interpretation of The Love of Three Oranges. This production gives everyone the opportunity to immerse themselves within such a pinnacle time period of fashion and music and take the audience on that wild ride with them. From the neon costuming, to the George Michael songs, every aspect of this play is truly spectacular and filled with fun.

Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I really enjoyed last year’s performance as it was about Antigone. This year though, turns out, it was a totally different theme based story, commedia dell’arte! This is one of my most favourite types of drama as we did that unit last year.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
Wearing the glow-in-the-dark makeup (I know, I can’t believe someone stole my idea!), and seeing people’s reactions to the crazy song list we have for a backdrop. I also will DEFINITELY be looking forward to the audience’s expressions when we wear these cool amazing costumes that is in the eighties clashed with hideous wigs!
What about the play interests you the most and why?
The play that most interested me was, the name, which at first glance seemed… a bit odd. But as I began reading the script, I finally understood. It was a LITERAL meaning. Not some poetic interpretation of someone eating-three-oranges-that-was-stuck-together-by-accident. I can’t believe I actually thought the oranges fell in love with each other! Hehe.

To smile the whole night and be filled with excitement
What about the play interests you the most and why?
I am interested in the plot as it is very strange to say the least yet exciting. also, out of the many plays I have been in this is the most unusual because I have only done “classics” (Jungle book, Moana, Lion King, Greatest showman)

I am most looking forward to building new connections with people from different year groups. As we rehearse together every week, I wish that we will slowly get to know each other through this shared experience.
What about the play interests you the most and why?
The main plot of the play is what interests me the most about the play because it is a very comedic and entertaining story – it is just about a Prince falling in love with oranges. I believe that the play will become very energetic and fun.

Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I really wanted to get out of my confront zone. I never tried out a play before so it was a new experience for me, how the costumes are done and what the rehearsals will be like. I felt like auditioning for the production will help me become more confident and allow me to be introduced to more friends and people.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I look forward to finding out how a production unfolds. How its done and what we have to do in order to make the official play a success. Basically what happens behind the scene.
What about the play interests you the most and why?
I think the characters interest me a lot since all the characters have different but clear personalities. Like Fata Morganas loud booming and confident attitude while Tartaglia has a cold, sad and negative personality.

Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I auditioned to be a part of The Love of Three Oranges because I love all things theatre, and the school play is a highlight of my year. Also, I have never gotten the chance to be in a comedy, so I was hoping for a chance to develop my comedy skills.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I am most looking forward to finally being able to share all of our hard work with the audience. As with most comedies, the true joy comes from performing it to an audience- with their reactions and energy fueling the cast, and reminding us that the months of effort have been well worth it.
What about the play interests you the most and why?
What interests me most about this play is that it is very different to anything Fintona has done in recent years, so being able to do a comedy is very exciting, and poses a new challenge. I also love the 80s twist on the commedia dell’arte play, and how the traditional stock characters have been adapted to suit this new context.

Why did you audition to be part of the school play this year?
I had the chance to be in the school play last year, which was an opportunity I absolutely loved, and I have been involved with drama at Fintona for years, so I really wanted to make sure I could end my time at Fintona on a high with another great play.
What are you most looking forward to about the school play this year?
I am really looking forward to working with such a phenomenal group of students once again, and being able to get on stage and perform the play that we have worked so hard on for the past term, to share our hard work with the school community.
What about the play interests you the most and why?
I really enjoy the over-the-top, maximalist 80’s aesthetic to the play, and how vibrant and fun it will look when it is on stage. I have found that it has been so enjoyable to work on achieving this, and I really hope that people will enjoy watching it just as much!
